Inspired by a true story, Director Denis Langlois dramatically tells his own fictional
account of amnesiac James Brighton (Dusan Dukic), a handsome young American who
was found naked and confused in an empty parking lot in Montreal. What precisely
led to the traumatic memory loss is the basis for this mysterious haunting tale.
After finding his way to a hospital James remembers his name, but cannot recall any of
his family or friends. While he has no recollection of crossing the Canadian border, he
knows for certain that he is gay. Medical tests conclusively show no signs of drug abuse,
physical trauma or psychological disorders. Adopted by local support group, Gay
S.O.S., a media campaign is built around James to help him re-discover his true identity.
As time passes, and curious clues to his identity emerge. Sylvie, a criminology student, gets
close to revealing who James really is, but her search for answers on the numerous post-its
that adorn her office are raising some questions of her own.
Though the story is strange and bizarrely real, Langlois plants a thought if any of us
lost our memory would we still retain somewhere in our being an imprint of our
sexual preference?
