Venture with us to explore the realms of future present and future beyond what you can imagine as we bring together an inventive collection of original sci-fi shorts. The future may be female but will it continue to be lesbian?

The Gendercator, Dir. Catherine Crouch, U.S. 2007, super8 and miniDV to video, 20 min. WORLD PREMIERE. Catherine Crouch (Pretty Ladies: a super8explosion! – MGLFF 2002) presents her newest provocative opus, a questioning and satirical look at female body modification. At a hippie retreat in 1973, sporty-dyke Sally drops too many party favors and passes out under a tree. One deep sleep later, Sally awakes in the year 2048 to discover that scientific advances in sex reassignment surgery have wiped out notions of butch or androgyny – yikes! Will she be able to escape a future without softball or flannel shirts?

Transgender Express, Dir. Laure Schwarz, Switzerland, video, 10 min. FLORIDA PREMIERE. In French with English subtitles. An interactive video game propels Laure through outer space and time. Via planet surgery she ends up on a transgender spaceship where she discovers her true mission.

The Incredible Dyke,Co-Dir. Kurt Koehler and James Edward Quinn, U.S. 2006, video, 9 min. WORLD PREMIERE. Don’t make her angry…. an unassuming woman turns a distinct shade of magenta in this hilarious lesbian homage to a Marvel comic’s super-hero from the 70’s.

Outside, Dir. Jenn Kao, U.S. 2004, video, 20 min. Somewhere in the future, the mother of all wars has left Earth unrecognizable. Survivors have two choices to conform or rebel. Life starts to have meaning for Debbie - beyond the sensory transdermal hallucinogenic she rubs in her palms when she meets a wild free Outsider.
